Job Description:
Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. is the nation's largest wine and spirits distributor, with current operations in 12 states and pending acquisitions in seven states. The multi-state distributor currently operates in: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania and South Carolina; and has pending acquisitions in the additional states of: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Vermont and Virginia. Job Summary:
-This position is responsible for providing highly value added analytical support to the sales and client service team dedicated to one of SWS largest national retailer partners
-This position requires the ability to work with large amounts of sales data specific to the Wine & Spirits industry in US grocery stores, and turn it into concise value added analyses and strategic insights covering current trends and issues confronting SWS, the retailer partner, and our major Wine & Spirits supplier partners.
-The successful applicant will have a unique ability to listen to client needs, understand how those needs can be addressed through the use of data and then develop custom analysis to meet those needs.
-The successful applicant will be comfortable analyzing with data concepts such as category trends, category segments and tiers, pricing, promotions, sales velocity, and geographic regions
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience: BA/BS degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years work experience in a data intensive position.
Skills: Advanced PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Fluent with either ACNielsen or IRI grocery store scan data. Extremely detail oriented. Comfortable in a heavily data driven environment. Ability to independently conduct value added, data based analysis. Ability to verbally explain complex data analyses to non data experts. Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Comfortable being a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Must be able to juggle multiple priorities with tight deadlines. Must be self motivated, articulate and creative. Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision.
Fluent with market research tools, ACNielsen (or IRI) syndicated information, and common CPG data methodologies is required. Analytical understanding of the Wine & Spirits categories is a major plus. Previous experience analyzing major grocery retailer sales data is a major plus.
