Job Description:

Straight Edge Staffing is a local staffing agency new to the Wine Industry. Our ultimate goal is to bring our personal touch and relation building culture to the wineries so they feel like they have a new division working within their structure with the sole purpose of gathering qualified personnel. We are now accepting applications as we are getting pools of qualified applicants together for upcoming wine-tasting room positions.

While this posting states full time, these jobs will be Temp / Temp- to- Hire positions for wineries that contract with Straight Edge Staffing to fill their open positions.

Wine Tasting Room Host/Hostess:

Summary – Delivery of a gracious experience to all guests while effectively employing selling techniques. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the consumer, trade guest experience and winery retail sales while maintaining a courteous and friendly attitude and atmosphere in the wine-tasting room.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Greet customers and offer the opportunity to taste our wines. This will include educating our customers on the different varietals and prices, while representing the winery in an attentive, courteous, friendly and in all ways a positive and hospitable manner.
•Assist customers with wine, non-wine and other purchases. This may include transporting wine and non-wine to the customer’s vehicles from stock room or tasting room.
•Maintain competence with computer functions, including retail POS systems.
•Answer telephones, process orders and provide customer service, as needed.
•Assist with outside tasting and winery events when needed.
•Responsible to maintain a high level of relevant wine, company and industry knowledge by remaining familiar with all current press information, memos and marketing information and other wine related publications.
•Perform Cashier operations, including tasting room opening and closing.
•Perform periodic wine and non-wine inventories.
•Perform routine housekeeping, organization, and stocking tasks.
•Maintain a clean and safe work environment. To include that all company safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
