Job Description:

Turnbull Wine Cellars is seeking a person with strong hospitality, sales, management and customer service skills to assume responsibility for its Tasting Room. The right candidate will be a natural sales person with exceptionally high standards of customer service, business acumen, the ability to build and lead a professional motivated sales team, deliver excellent special events, and have proven experience developing profitable sales programs. This “hands on” leadership position will provide direct support to the hospitality team as follows:

• Effective hiring, training and managing Tasting Room staff.
• Manage day-to-day Tasting Room operations.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for Tasting Room.
• Manage POS computer system, internet sales, and maintain web page.
• Analyze and report sales information in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure adherence to accounting and inventory procedures.
• Order and maintain Tasting Room inventories; wine and non-wine items.
• Produce and adhere to budget.
• Manage and reconcile inventory according to prescribed schedule.
• Ensure consistent and appropriate brand message is effectively communicated.
• Lead strategic development of retail business/sales plan, drive initiatives for growth, manage profitability and be accountable for performance.
• Maintain a cordial, friendly, spotless Tasting Room.
• Conduct successful wine club and VIP tours and hospitality events.
• Uphold highest standards of integrity, accountability and customer service.

Qualifications;
• Three years experience in tasting room management.
• A passion for and sound knowledge of wine.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of point of sale and other tasting room business/accounting issues/systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated people and leadership skills.
