Job Description:

Corporate Communications Manager:

Develop the internal communications strategy for senior leadership review approval and drive the day-to-day execution of the agreed to plan. Provide administrative coordination to support the FWEA training & development programs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Communications Planning: Develop short and long term internal employee communications plans and facilitate plan alignment with the FWEA executive leadership team.
• Ensure strategy supports the broader culture, people and business strategy objectives
• Effectively reaches a broad based audience
• Drives consistency of messaging

Development & Execution of Internal Communications: Develop and manage the execution of various internal communications to support the agreed to plan.
• Create interest and drive clarity of messaging through appropriate communication channels/mediums
• Seek out and understand key business issues and translate to appropriate internal messages communicated through a variety of channels
• Develop the content and ensure the effective execution of regular internal comms programs (i.e. weekly news letter, town halls etc)
• Seek out new and inventive ways to support a robust internal communications strategy
Portal Content: Manage the upkeep and posting of assigned content on the FWEA portal.
Corporate Communications Liaison: Regional central point of contact with Australia based Corporate communications to coordinate logistics and execution of global message plans, annual earnings releases and/or other global business communications as needed.

Budget Management: Ensure the communications strategy is carried out on time and within budget. Continually seek ways to increase the impact of communications with a more efficient use of resources

Training & Development Communications: Provide the administrative/coordination support to the Training & Development programs to ensure the timely and accurate capture of enrolment data, program availability etc.


Other:
• Source, assess and manage vendors to support internal communications work (i.e. photography, video, AV etc.)
• Support the VP HR in a variety of culture and/or engagement initiatives as requested.
• Provide communications coaching/feedback to internal speakers in prep for large events

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, experience and/or abilities required.


• Bachelors degree in English, communications or some other related field
• 5+ years of PR or other communications related work in a business setting
• Excellent writing skills in a business setting
• Ability to utilize a variety of communication mediums to include strong usage of technology based tools
• Proven ability to work independently and professionally across functional and department lines
• Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp business concepts and translate into effective internal messages and employee communications
• Experience in managing the development and execution of messaging related to organizational change
• Strong project management, detail orientation and follow-up skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described below are representative to successfully perform the essential job functions. The following percentages are given in terms of an eight-hour workday. • Identify communication vehicle options and determine the most appropriate for the planned use
• Assess the impact of messaging vs the planned intent and make recommendations on how to improve
• Identify ways to improve the efficiency of internal communications

KEY CHALLENGES IN ACHIEVING GOAL(S): (What are the key challenges faced by this role in meeting it’s goals/objectives)

• Accessing the right business information and translating to timely messages that drive priority behaviours and the performance culture
• Driving a robust internal communications strategy across a diverse work population (English and Spanish speaking)
• Engaging the Executive Leadership team at the right level in the right capacity to support the communications strategy
